Family get Together at Horsham

A quick family holiday at Horsham provided the opportunity for everyone to reconnect, especially
the cousins who are still developing their awareness of each other.

There were some fun times together and an early birthday party for Polly.

We also saw some of the local attractions.
The journey to Halls Gap gave us an insight into the devastating bush fires that occurred last summer. There is new growth but the trees took on an alien presence with their deformity. Hopefully the area will get back to its former beauty soon.

A trip to the "Top End"

A quick trip to the "Top End" provided a fantastic opportunity to photograph a different kind of  rugged Australian landscape.

The pics of Edith Falls have been well received on Australia.com.

An aerial view of Kakadu showed the landscape as an ethereal world with the fires of the dry season smoking eriely below and winding rivers glinting in the sun.

Katherine Gorge provided some challenging lighting  but the reflections added  to the sense of grandure.

Although I wasn't particularly intereted in crocodiles we found that they are a huge part of  tourism in the territory and I now know more about them than I could have ever imagined.
